On Friday, June 16th, authorities were called out to the scene of a serious crash. According to police, a single vehicle was discovered in bad condition after colliding with a nearby wall. The crash reportedly occurred at around 5 A.M. on Spencer Street and Warm Springs Drive.

There was one individual inside the car who was suffering from very serious life-threatening injuries. The driver was rushed to the nearby Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where emergency responders performed life-saving care. The community is currently hopeful that the driver will pull through and experience a full recovery in time.

The intersection was closed in all directions for a brief period of time while investigators attempted to determine what happened and the scene was cleaned up.

    What is a single-vehicle accident?

Single-vehicle accidents occur when one vehicle crashes without direct collision with another vehicle. While these crashes often involve running off the road, they can result from various factors:

    • Driver-related: Impairment, fatigue, or evasive maneuvers
    • External factors: Road hazards, weather conditions, or wildlife
    • Third-party liability: Other drivers’ negligent actions forcing evasive moves
    • Mechanical failures: Defective vehicle parts or improper maintenance

Even in single-vehicle crashes, other parties may bear liability. For example, if a manufacturer’s defective steering component causes a driver to lose control, or if another motorist’s dangerous driving forces a crash-avoiding maneuver, victims may have grounds for compensation.

For instance, another driver may have been in the wrong lane, forcing the victim to swerve off the road. In other cases, a defective car part could have resulted in the driver veering off the road uncontrollably.

Las Vegas Laws Regarding Car Accidents

Las Vegas is a fault state when it comes to car accidents. In other words, the at-fault party is often the party that will need to pay for the losses associated with a car accident. Nevada uses a 50% rule, which means that someone involved in a car accident can seek out compensation from an at-fault party so long as that party is at least 51% responsible for the accident.

As an example, if a driver in another lane was 60% at fault for your accident because they were driving in your lane, then you can seek out compensation for 60% of your losses from the other driver by filing a claim.

How to Handle a Car Accident Claim the Right Way

When you get involved in a car crash, it’s important to understand your legal options and rights. Depending on the circumstances, you may have several options for seeking out financial compensation for the losses you endure.

One source of recourse may be your insurance provider. Another source of compensation could be another negligent party whose actions caused or contributed to your accident.

To learn more about how to navigate your car accident claim the right way, consider discussing your situation with a personal injury lawyer attorney.
