Las Vegas injury claims
Las Vegas is the one place in the valley where interstate freight, resort traffic and ordinary commuting use the same roads at the same time. I-15 carries the freight corridor between Southern California and Utah straight through the middle of it, meeting US-95 at the Spaghetti Bowl north of downtown. Las Vegas Boulevard, Charleston, Sahara, Rainbow and Boulder Highway each carry a different kind of traffic into that. It is also where a serious injury from anywhere in Clark County is taken, and where the claim arising from it is heard.
Where the valley's claims end up
You are hurt somewhere else in the valley, and you still end up here. The only Level I trauma center in Nevada is UMC, so a serious injury from Henderson, Paradise or Spring Valley is brought into Las Vegas. And larger claims are heard at the Regional Justice Center downtown, whichever city the incident happened in.
That matters for a practical reason. Which agency wrote the report depends on exactly where you were, and there are more of them than people expect: Metro, Henderson PD, North Las Vegas PD, Nevada Highway Patrol on the freeways, and Boulder City running its own. A claim can sit for weeks because the report is being chased from the wrong department.
Establishing the address, the agency and the court at the start is dull work that costs nothing. Establishing it near a filing deadline is a different experience entirely.
The valley’s claims and its casualties both end up here
University Medical Center runs the only Level I trauma center in Nevada, so somebody badly hurt in Henderson, Paradise or Spring Valley is brought to Las Vegas. Clark County District Court at the Regional Justice Center hears the larger claims from every township in the county for the same reason. A crash that happened elsewhere still produces a Las Vegas medical record and a Las Vegas case number, and both matter more to the claim than the address where it happened.
A great many people hurt here do not live here
Tens of millions of visitors a year means a large share of injuries on this corridor happen to somebody who flies home a few days later. That does not weaken a claim and it does not require anybody to come back. Treatment records travel, the case is run from wherever you are, and the parts that need a person in Nevada are the parts a lawyer does. What does get harder is evidence: resort surveillance runs on a short retention cycle and witnesses scatter to other states within days.
Downtown, Summerlin, Sunrise Manor and North Las Vegas
The city is not one driving environment. Downtown mixes pedestrians with the freeway interchange feeding it. Summerlin runs wide suburban arterials at speed. Sunrise Manor sits along Boulder Highway with its long-standing record of night-time pedestrian collisions. North Las Vegas has its own police department and its own justice court, so a smaller claim arising there does not necessarily follow the same path as one from the Strip. Where exactly an incident happened decides which agency wrote the report and which court it lands in.
What an injury claim lawyer does before any lawsuit
Most personal injury claims in Nevada are resolved with an insurer and never become a lawsuit. The work of an injury claim lawyer happens in that stretch: getting the police report and the medical records, sending preservation letters, working out what the injury will cost from here on, and presenting a demand the adjuster has to answer with reasons. A lawsuit is filed when the offer stays short of the evidence or the two-year deadline gets close, and the preparation already done becomes the case.
No win, no fee, and what that means in writing
People look for a personal injury lawyer who works on a no win, no fee basis, and that is how we work: the fee is a percentage of what is recovered, and if nothing is recovered there is no attorney fee. Nevada requires that arrangement to be in writing, and the agreement also has to explain how case costs, such as records and expert fees, are handled. We go through that page with you before anything is signed.
Settlements we have recovered across our practice
These are from the firm’s wider practice rather than from this type of claim. Actual settlements obtained by this firm. Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome. Every case turns on its own facts, and value depends on the injuries, the available coverage and the evidence. Amounts are gross recoveries before fees and case costs.

The early offer is not the answer
Most people worry that a lawyer will take the quick settlement, bank a share and move on. It is a fair worry. The way a file is worked from the first week is what decides whether that happens, so here is how yours is handled.
-
A person answers
Any hour, in English or Spanish, and not an answering service. If you cannot travel, we come to you.
-
Evidence is preserved first
Preservation letters go out before footage cycles and vehicle data is overwritten. That happens in the first days, not after an offer arrives.
-
The file is built as if it will be tried
Treatment documented, records gathered, liability evidence secured. A file built that way is worth more whether or not it ever reaches a jury.
-
Every offer comes to you
With a recommendation and the reasoning behind it. Accepting or refusing is your decision, not ours, and it always was.
Questions we get from Las Vegas
I was visiting Las Vegas when I was hurt. Do I have to come back?
No. Most of these claims run with the client at home in another state, and treatment records follow you. The parts that need somebody physically in Nevada are the parts a lawyer handles. What does not wait is the evidence: resort footage runs on a short retention cycle and other visitors who saw it fly home within days.
Which court would hear my Las Vegas claim?
Clark County District Court at the Regional Justice Center for larger claims, and Las Vegas Justice Court for smaller ones. North Las Vegas runs its own justice court, so exactly where an incident happened can change the route. The great majority of matters resolve without a trial and without you attending anything.
Does it matter that the crash happened outside the city?
For the claim itself, less than people expect. A serious injury from anywhere in Clark County is usually taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, the only Level I trauma center in Nevada, and larger claims from across the county are heard at the Regional Justice Center. The location decides which agency wrote the report, which is worth pinning down early.
How long do I have to bring a claim in Las Vegas?
Generally two years from the date of injury under NRS 11.190(4)(e). A claim against a government body runs on a separate and much shorter route, and negotiating with an insurer does not extend either. The date is the one part of a claim that cannot be argued about afterward.
Do injury claim lawyers in Las Vegas charge anything up front?
Not here. The review is free, the fee is a written percentage of what is recovered, and there is no attorney fee if nothing is recovered. How case costs are handled is set out in the same agreement, and we explain it before you sign.
